I get asked this question every day, so although it’s not something I am entirely comfortable talking about I think I need to address it again.
I have a number of upper intestinal and stomach issues, the diagnosis and medications of which have been slowly changing and unfolding as the years go on. Currently my specialists are stuck at Non-Ulcer Dyspepsia and a few other disorders that I don’t feel super comfortable talking about.
I’m fairly against most medication, not for others but for myself, personally. Too many people in my life have become addicted to medications for me to be able to feel safe taking them. I rarely take pain killers, in fact the only time in the last 10 months that I’ve taken any pain killers was when I had my surgery done a few weeks ago. I have issues with any drugs that stunt my ability to feel- mentally, or physically. I don’t believe in treating symptoms, but rather finding the cause. Currently I medicate my health issues with diet and exercise to the best of my ability, but I have bad days along with the good. My illness is very much stress-induced, so it’s important for me to monitor my stress, although sometimes it is inevitable.
THIS HAS BEEN HEALTH 101 W/ ANGE.
